Gerard Delafose & The Zydeco Gators

Gerard Delafose, Music for Movement, will be performing Saturday, April 8th, from 6-7:30pm on the Main Stage during the 2023 Louisiana Railroad Days Festival.

John Delafose and the nephew of the legendary Geno Delafose. He has been playing the accordion for over 20 years, as well as washboard and drums. He first picked up the accordion when he was only eight years old. He grew up learning from the best and will surely bring that legendary Zydeco sound that we all grew up loving.

Delafose and his band have toured the east coast as well as overseas to France and Switzerland being the first Zydeco band to play at “The Blues to Bop festival” in Switzerland. The band mixes their own fresh funky groove with different selections of songs as well as their own, into the music they play.

The Zydeco Gators are made up of family and good friends. Delafose released a CD in February, 2018 entitled “Can’t Make U Love Me” which everybody loves. The group upholds a high standard of professional ethics, while knowing how to entertain even the toughest of crowds!
