Welcome to the 42nd Louisiana Railroad Days Festival
The members of the DeQuincy Federated Service League and the city of DeQuincy welcome you to the 42nd Annual Louisiana Railroad Days Festival held every spring on the second weekend of April. This year’s festival will be held from Thursday, April 10th through Saturday, April 12th, 2025.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate the 2025 LA Railroad Days Festival. The citizens of DeQuincy are proud of their railroading heritage and come together each year to celebrate this great family-oriented festival. This year, DFSL has chosen to honor DFSL 2024 “Club Woman of the Year”, Kelly Pickering, as Parade Marshall. She is always willing to help where needed with her organizational skills and level-headed thinking and she doesn’t back down from a challenge. Members of the Federated Service League appreciate everything she has done to make our family-oriented festival a success.
The ladies of the DeQuincy Federated Service League operate the Coke booths during the festival to sponsor scholarships, school projects and community projects and give charitable contributions throughout Southwest Louisiana. The Louisiana Railroad Days Festival is one of the only festivals in the state where there is no beer or alcohol sold, no gate fee and entertainment is completely free. The small percentage charged for the other booths is used to defray some of the expenses of the festival like insurance, porta potties, advertisements, and entertainment which amounts to over $100,000. Local businesses also help the festival with financial contributions.
Our thanks go to all the school, civic, church, and business organizations that participate in our wonderful, family-oriented weekend. We wish to extend a very special thank you to Mayor Riley Smith for all his hard work in preparing for the festival. We would also like to thank the DeQuincy City Crew, The DeQuincy City Hall Employees, and The DeQuincy Railroad Museum Board who have done so much to get the museum ready for the annual event. Thanks also to the DeQuincy News, DeQuincy City Council, Chamber of Commerce, CLECO, Brightspeed, DeQuincy City Police, CPSO Lt. Mitchell Taylor, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department, and their reserve units. We would also like to thank Nichols of DeQuincy.
We are pleased to present the musical talents of a wide variety of entertainers such as The Ladies Trio – featuring Kenna West, Amber Eppinette & Lauren Talley (this year’s Gospel Night headliner), Brad Broussard & Chute 13, Joe Harmon & The Harmonics, 26 West and Wayne Toups, along with other local singers. The Louisiana Railroad Days Festival has been selected as a Top 20 Event in the South numerous times, and we feel certain there will be something for everyone.
We encourage young and old alike to participate in the many activities planned for the weekend or just relax and listen to all the free entertainment. For information about any aspect of the festival, see the ladies of D.F.S.L. in the “Little Red Caboose” located on the festival grounds or visit our website, www.larailroaddaysfestival.com. Get on board and take part in the 42th Annual Louisiana Railroad Days Festival. We guarantee you’ll have a “rail” good time.
